EGGS: Video Field Trip takes viewers young and old on a journey to an egg farm.

EGGS: VIDEO FIELD TRIPThis 15-minute video offers you a unique look at the entire process - from hen to home. You’ll learn about different kinds of chickens, tour a modern laying house and see how the eggs are prepared for the trip to the store.

You’ll also see what’s inside an egg and how that relates to measuring and grading an egg.

You’ll learn many interesting facts about the entire egg process, presented with animations that incorporate math and geography, and footage that emphasizes observation and listening.EGGS: VIDEO FIELD TRIP

ICE CREAM: A Video Field Trip takes you on a journey inside an ice cream factory.

During this 14-minute video, you’ll view the entire process of making ice cream, from its beginnings as farm-fresh milk to its delivery to your local store.

Also included are five stand-alone segments with a brief description of specific ice cream processes. Each segment is one minute long and covers the following topics:

Ingredients - uses maps to show where some of the ingredients used to make ice cream are produced.

Pasteurization - describes why milk & cream need to be heated before they are used to make ice cream.

SAVE YOURSELF! THE PRINCIPLES OF SAVING & INVESTING Save Yourself! The Principles of Saving & Investing is one of the latest productions in PBS39’s award-winning Video Field Trip series. This half-hour program covers the basics of personal saving and introduces the fundamental concepts of investing.

You’ll meet Josh and Kenlyn, two typical students trying to figure out what to do with their money. Kenlyn decided to save and invest her money, while Josh has managed to spend most of his. Josh decides it’s time to make his money SAVE YOURSELF! THE PRINCIPLES OF SAVING & INVESTING work for him, and Kenlyn offers some advice and examples of how to start saving and growing his money.

Using graphics and animation, viewers learn about simple and compound interest, certificates of deposit, interest rates, stocks, bonds, and many more financial concepts. The comparison between growth and risk is explored with each type of investment option, as well as how these options apply to long and short-term financial goals.
